Adv. Susieben Shah, Chairperson and Commission members have come up with a unique initiative known as “Ignore No More”, whichencourages women to find practical solutions to their challenges so that each one becomes self-dependent in their own right. As part of this campaign, the Maharashtra State Commission for Women has spearheaded the “Self Defence Program” for Schoolgirls between the classes VII to XI, which is included as an integral part of their school curriculum. Specially trained self-defence teachers from Mumbai Police will be the instructors for the young schoolgirls. She will also launch a handbook “Know Your Rights” made by commission to Spread Legal Awareness among Women. This handbook will make laws related to women easier to comprehend through simple question –answer methodology. This book helps women facing various problems and give answer to their frequently asked questions. The book provides detail legal information on following topics:

· Rights of Women as Citizens of India
· Matrimonial Rights of  Women
· Rights of Mothers to Custody of Children
· Rights of Muslim Women
· Rights of women in Invalid Marriages or Live-in Relationships
